South Carolina Plantation Wedding

We went to South Carolina for my husband's cousins wedding. It was held at a plantation. It was very pretty. Although it rained buckets almost the entire time.
They had to put up a tent so I couldn't get a good picture of the front of the home. It was built in 1875.

We all wore yellow. All these pictures were taken with my iPhone so the quality isn't that great. Since it was raining so much nobody could look amazing.

The happy couple.

Cake cutting time. They had their own little cake and then served tiny cupcakes to the guests. They had lemon, lime, strawberry, and grapefruit flavors. I had lemon and it was good.

A view from the upstairs porch.

Then it was church on Sunday morning....

And this was  my pink skirt I wore. I got this from Paris Rags.  And I paired it with pink pearls.  This weekend my sister and I are off to Georgia. We are going to spend time with my nephew. I'm so ready for Spring Break.

I'll take lots of pictures to share with you soon.

Spring Wreath...

Today Savanah and I went to Joanne's to find a new wreath for the front door. I went with a specific look in mind.  I had some things in my craft pile that I  wanted to use...

This vintage hankie, and these adorable vintage flowers and darling vintage bee.... not to mention some vintage hand crocheted edging that I wanted to use. I was thinking yellow and white and I found the perfect wreath already made up. You can't get any better than that. It was half the work and half price on sale. And I had a 20% off coupon. Deal. Sold.

So I brought it home and set to work... and I love how bright and spring like it looks. It reminds me of my granny because she always loved yellow flowers.

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want-- oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! -- Mark Twain

Hello March...

Hello March.... I am so glad it is quickly marching to spring! Pun intended. Although we have had a relatively mild winter here in Florida. My favorite time of year is spring and summer. I really hate cold, wet, gray days. I am looking forward to pastel colors and balmy breezes.

Not to mention little chocolate eggs and big chocolate bunnies.

I have been busy with a little spring cleaning. The cleaning bug has bitten and I am ready for everything to be nice and fresh and bright. So Goodwill has gotten a few things and family members have gotten a few things...and I am slowly getting peace and order to this house! Yay! I've still got a little way to go. But if the good Lord is willing and the creek doesn't rise these things should be all done in no time.

Blessings and love to you,
Amy Jo

Sweet Snails

I got a few vintage goodies in the mail box today. One thing is this beautiful vintage Sears blanket. I just love the roses on it. Another was this adorable snail planter. I don't know why snails are so adorable to me. Even real ones. LOL   I'm not sure where I am putting him. But I know I will find a place.

I've had these little snail salt and peppers for a long time. Now it's a snail family of three. My sister is coming over and we are going to hit a few antique stores. My kind of fun! I hope you have a blessed and happy Saturday!

XOXO,
Amy Jo

A Baby Shower Gift...

Our neighbor is having a baby and I was invited to the shower....so I got to have a lot of fun buying for a baby girl! Every one we know has had boys over the last few years, so it was fun to actually get to buy for a girl. This basket Savanah had painted for her sister in law, thinking she was having a girl....but it was a boy. So she didn't get to use it. I decided to use it for this shower.

I got this tag from fabfindsanddesigns on instagram. I thought it would be cute added to the bow on the basket.

I had this wrapping paper for ages so it was perfect to wrap the diapers.

I filled it blankets and clothes and crib sheets and a few other baby essentials....

Then added this tag from Mary Jane at The Beehive Cottage blog. I love these tags she makes they are just so cute! And then it was ready to give.

A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on.

Randomness...

Happy President's Day!  I have a some very random things to share with you... First is our doorbell button gave up the ghost and we replaced it with a shiny new one... It makes me happy. I know it's the little things.

This is my Valentine Door Wreath. My neighbor made it for me and I added the heart for Valentines.

Levi growing so big.... He's on a skateboard here. But he is right around my height now. So soon he will be taller than me. tear, tear.

The Azalea's are blooming and I just love how pretty they are.

By the road...

Frank got us a new mailbox since someone bent ours. A common problem in the back roads...

My hubby had these delivered to the door Friday. So pretty. And so sweet. He is a very sweet man. We spent Valentines together. We went shopping and to Longhorn for Lunch. And we may have stopped at Sweet Frogs for dessert... but don't tell the kids...

On Saturday I found this at an antique mall for $10.00. I have been wanting a pink cow creamer for a while... so now I can mark that off of my ever changing must have collection list. LOL

A view of the dining room.... the big bouquet was for Savanah from her husband... a special delivery. Their one year anniversary was yesterday. Time is just going. We have to remember to see the beauty in the small every day things as this is what life is made of.
Blessing and Love to you dear readers.....

Some Cleaning....

I bought these adorable tins a little while back and they have just been stuffed away in a cabinet. I got to thinking what is the point of having them if I am just  going to hide them. So I looked around and thought they would look nice on top of the refrigerator. When I climbed up to see about this..... Let's just say it was not pretty. So a two minute project turned into 30 minutes. But Now I have a clean dust free fridge and some pretty little tins on top.

XOXO,
Amy Jo

A Handmade doll

I thought I would share the little handmade doll I got from a lady who lives in Chez Republic. She is so adorable and even though I got her months ago, I forgot to share her with my blog friends. I found her on instagram and instantly wanted her. She took over a month to get to me. Now she sits in the entry way.  I hope all are having a wonderful beginning of the week.

Happy New Year! 2015

Oh my time has gone by so fast! It is a New Year and a lovely one it is! I have been busy with my little family. We all had the flu over the Holidays. So we had six weeks of illness in this house. It  is really awful. But we are all better now and moving forward with the new year. I hope all of you are well! I am hoping to spend a little more time here. But I keep using instagram and then never update this little corner of my life. I hope to do better though.

XOXO,
Amy Jo
