Pin Money Banks

Can you believe Thanksgiving will be here in three days? I can't. Not only will it be Thanksgiving but it will be Levi's 12th birthday. Time is flying. I wanted to share a couple of vintage banks I have gotten over the last couple of months. I collect these little banks and I only had a couple. But I picked up two more. This is the first one.

And this is the second one. My picture blurred a little. They are just so pretty. I love them.

Here they are on my bookshelf in the dining room. I have a beautiful little hutch to work on and paint. I am hoping to get that done soon. Then all of this will be changed up. I will keep you updated.

Blessings,
Amy Jo

Feminine Friday

So I haven't done a feminine Friday in a loooong time. So today is Friday and I thought I would.  I heard about this company on Instagram that is called Stitch Fix. It is a personal  stylist via the internet. You give your sizes, your likes and dislikes and they send you out a package of clothes and accessories and you see if you like them. If you don't you just send them back, no problems at all. (Postage Paid)

I apologize for this mirror. I had just bought it and had not cleaned it yet. ( Isn't it cute?) Pink and everything!  Back to the Fix. I got this maxi dress which I would never in a million years   think that this would look good on me. But I love it. It is comfortable, Modest and light weight. They also sent me the sweater I am wearing and a really cool necklace. So I decided to keep most of the items sent. I have gotten a few fixes since this one and they have been hit or miss. But always fun!  One thing about the Fixes is that they will make you think outside of your box. You know me floral and vintage. But these fixes are modern and trendy. Sometimes that works and sometimes it just doesn't.  So that is it another fabulously feminine Friday!
P.S. If you decide to join tell them I sent you. They give you money towards the next fix. ;)

The Rest of The Pictures

Well I finally got the rest of the pics loaded up! These aren't that fabulous but I was determined to get them on here. This old basket I picked up at the antique mall. It has red around the edges. I just love it.

Fake books... everyone needs these right?

I don't know why but these are just so  cute to me.

This is the second bathroom. Appropriately outfitted in ocean.

My friend Heather brought me the little ocean picture on the left. It was just perfect for the space.

And a few more pics of granny's bed.

Now don't try to stay past check out time... because it is Strictly Enforced!

And lastly my new C I got this at Hobby Lobby. I love all of the letters that are so popular right now.

Some Updates....and I Know it Has Been a While!

Oh my it has been a while!!! I have missed you all! We have been extremely busy here. Summer was a bluster of travel and a whirl wind of activity. Then it was time for school and then the activity of driving back and forth. We have had company and events and it feels as if we just can't stop! But today I just set the time aside to blog a little. Now all of my pics wouldn't load. So we will make due with these until next time. I wanted to show you a few things I did at the little vacation house... This is in the bathroom.

My friend Heather got me this for my birthday back in June.

The curtains are hung. I just love the pink touches.

This is the painting I bought for my antique booth. It never did sell and I loved it. So it is now in the bathroom.

I picked up this little picture at an antique mall for $3.00. I thought it was cute.

In the living room I added a few touches.  It still has some work but it is coming along.

We have had such good times here already. We love visiting and honestly the simplicity just adds to the relaxation factor. Sooo what have all of you been up to? I think I will do some blog hopping and find out. Something I haven't done in ages. So good to be back!!

XOXO,
Amy Jo

A Gift from Mama's Mercantile

Imagine my delight when I checked my mailbox and I had a special delivery all the way from Lincolnshire, England. I had won a blog give away from Mama's Mercantile!

Inside was a beautifully wrapped package. I just love the little flower pin that I can reuse on a blouse or purse.

And so many beautiful buttons all sewn on the cutest cards. I am not sure how I am going to use them yet but I do have a few ideas..... wink wink

Also included was this sweet little needle case. I think it is so cute. She said it is made out of Harris Tweed. From the Isle of Harris and Lewis. I learn something new everyday. I have never heard of it. I love meeting people from far away lands. It seems we can learn so much from each other.

This is the inside of it.
If you have never looked at her blog go over and check it out. She is a very industrious woman. Always creating and crafting something.
Mama's Mercantile
Thank you so much Lorraine! I just love the whole gift!!!

Steinhatchee Home

I have been telling y'all that I have been very busy and traveling a lot. Well the reason I have been doing that is this. I told you in this post about a piece of property we bought in Steinhatchee, FL. We have been going there for years and my parents own a place there. I had contacted the elderly gentleman next door. I noticed they had not been up in years. Their place was literally falling apart. So I wrote him a letter letting him know that my parents were his next door vacation neighbors. And we were interested
 in buying his place.
He called me and let me know that he would think about it. Well long story short he sold it to us for a really great price. And he removed the old mobile home off of it and everything.  We were left with a blank piece of property. We thought we would eventually build a small cottage or put a mobile home back on it.

When our friend said he was selling his little mobile home, because he had bought a house, we decided to go look at it. We struck a deal and we had it moved to the property. Their was a lot of work to be done on the home. We didn't realize that the windows had been leaking. So we got my Dad to fix all of the leaks and replace the floors with these beautiful laminate wood floors. Some of the walls were soft so Dad fixed the wood in the walls and he put bead board on the damaged walls. It looks so nice. I almost wish all of the walls were bead board.

Now this is a work in progress....So the pictures I am showing are of just the beginning. As I go I will show you the progress. It has already gotten better than what I am showing. I just wanted to show you the first weekend we started moving stuff in.

This is the room Levi will be sleeping in. When guests come he will sleep on the pull out sofa. That valance was an original to the mobile home. Kevin (son-in-law) named it moldiqua because he said it looks like mold. LOL He actually got out of bed to check and make sure it wasn't. haha I know the bedding is feminine but it is what I have. I am looking for something boyish and nautical for it. This bed is the bed my Granny was born on. So it is a treasure to me. I believe it is from between 1910 to 1925. Not sure exactly. I am also looking to change out moldiqua.

Now this is a treasure I found at Goodwill for $200.00 it was the complete bed. Headboard footboard and side rails. It was in perfect condition, BUT you know I love painted furniture. So....

She got a paint job. In the palest of pinks! I love how it turned out.

I put on some new Rachel Ashwell shabby pink sheets and Vintage Ralph Lauren bedding.

Wa La my favorite thing so far! As you can see I still have painting to do on the window trim.

And all around the room...but shhhh don't tell hubby,he thinks it is fine as is. I won't stress him with it. While he is out fishing I will work on it. I know this post was long, but I wanted y'all to know where I have been and what all of the traveling was about. Now I will be posting often on the changes of our little get away. I hope you stick around to see all of the changes.

Blessings,
Amy Jo
