All About Maida

While shopping at Adjectives Market, an antique mall here in Central Florida, I came across this lovely set of books. It is an almost complete collection of books about a little girl named Maida. The set is only lacking one in the series.

They were so sweet looking that I decided to buy them. I have already read the first two in the series. The first one is Maida's Little Shop and the Second is Maida's Little House.

These little books are copy righted in 1926. They are written by Inez Haynes Irwin.... I had never heard of these books before. Have any of you? I am thinking they must have been quite popular back then because the series is quite large.....

So for homeschoolers or lovers of vintage books this little series is just so cute! I am thoroughly enjoying the reading of these children's adventures. I suppose I am still a child in my heart.

I hope you are all staying warm. I am staying in, and I believe I may make myself some hot chocolate.

Surface of Savanah

My daughter is beginning her new life in a few weeks....she will be married and moving a whole new part of the country. We will be gaining a son and losing a daughter (in a sense) all in one day. She just decided to start her own blog and we can all follow her on this little road she is about to travel....she would love it if you will come and visit her.

Flea Market Cart for a Friend

I forgot to share with you all the flea market cart I made for my friend Heather. I did not get close ups and I am sorry for that. I used a chicken print and an antique mantle scarf to assemble it. It turned out very cute. I know she will get good use out of it. She is like me and always on the look out for the next find....

Laundry Cart

I have been so busy but I did manage to squeeze in getting my laundry cart liner finished. I used a vintage sheet and vintage trim that I had gotten for super cheep at an antique store. It turned out really cute. And it perfectly matches my laundry room. I do still plan on showing the whole thing soon. I have been very slow in this process.

The wedding planning has put a hold on a lot of my normal every day life.... I know weddings are great, but honestly I will be glad when it is over. This is the front of the wedding invitation. Kevin designed it and he did a really good job. Saturday is the Bridal Shower. It will be at the tea room. I will share pictures of the day.  I think it we will have a lovely time. Until then.....

Blessings and Love,

Another Year!

Another year is dawning!
Dear Master, let it be,
In working or in waiting,
Another year with Thee,
Another year in leaning,
Upon Thy loving breast,
Of ever-deepening trustfulness,
Of quiet, happy rest.

Another year of mercies,
Of faithfulness and grace,
Another year of gladness,
In the shining of Thy face.
Another year of progress,
Another year of praise;
Another year of proving
Thy presence "all the days."

----Frances Ridley Havergal
