October turned Into November

The temperatures are finally cooler. November is here and the mild fall that we get here in Florida seems to be here to stay for a while.

My Aunt Bonnie sent me this beautiful set of dishes. I think they are perfect for fall.

I’m really looking forward to Thanksgiving this year. It’s always been one of my favorite holidays. I look forward to Mom’s Dressing and Giblet gravy.

In other news we celebrated 26 years of marriage last month! It is such a rare and precious thing in today’s age to be able to believe in someone and know that they will never willfully leave you or hurt you. I’m so blessed to have my husband who is committed to our family. Nothing is more important on this side of heaven. So many treat it as if it’s nothing and walk away for their own happiness. Never thinking of the terrible hurt and pain they cause. And the brokenness they leave behind.

My handsome husband

Our children Levi and Savanah the night we all went to see Cirque Du Soleil.

The four of us. We had a great time!

My parents also celebrated their anniversary of 47 years!!

On our Anniversary we were at the hospital because my sister needed surgery. Everything went well and I considered that the perfect gift. She’s doing so well now.

We are so thankful to God for answering our many prayers. He is so good!

Lately I’ve been changing up my wardrobe quite a bit. I’ve always loved clothes and fashion. But not high fashion. Just my own twist of fashion. My style probably isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

Both the under Blouse and sweater are second hand. It’s the way I like to buy my clothes. I don’t want to spend a fortune on something and feel that I must wear it for ten years to make it worth the money.

I took an online course called dressing your truth and I decided I was a type 1/2 or 2/1. I can never decide between them. I love the fashion of both and have a lot of characteristics of both. This is the type 2 color card and an outfit to match.

I got this beautiful necklace on Poshmark.

All of the colors from both cards are beautiful. Excuse the night side table. There’s always a stack of books to read.

Here’s another type 2/1 or 1/2 outfit.

Of course I still always love my pink. This linen shirt is another second hand find. My friend gave me the necklace.

If it’s soft and feminine then I love it!

Florals are always a favorite !

I love getting ideas on Pinterest.

My version of this look.

And as always I try to let scripture guide my standards.

May God Bless you,

Happy July

Happy July! Another month has come and gone.

We are still getting daily rain. It looks like a hurricane hit through here. Hopefully we don’t actually get a hurricane this year. I’m not sure what will happen. Probably the worst flooding this area would have seen.

During the month of June we went to visit my father in law. We hadn’t seen him in over 5 years. This is my brother in law (left to right) father in law, husband, and son. It was good to check on him and see how things are doing for him.

We went and saw the Incredibles.

We went to the beach...

And scalloping...

We have to take two boats since the family has grown so much.

As you can see they were successful...

I stayed back and got to play with Carson, my great nephew. He’s the little star of the show. My daughter and son in law have yet to have children.... they brought his eight year old nephew.

They are not used to parenting!😂

While they were out cold, Mason was still going! They  thought an eight year old took energy... I cannot wait to see how a baby goes. Hee hee

Happy Summer!

Hello Dolly! It’s the first day of summer! Can you believe it? Doesn’t it seem that it was just New Years the other day?

With summer comes a lot of rain and a lot of heat. I’m so thankful for air conditioning. And ice cream 🍦

Everything is green and beautiful. And the bugs are in full supply. But each season is so wonderful. And each has its special joys. I hope you have a wonderful summer! And that it doesn’t fly by to fast.

Bee Kind

Happy Thursday! It’s another great day in Florida. And I’m counting my blessings. I found the adorable Bee Kind dish towel at Hobby Lobby in the beginning of Spring.

And these adorable shakers for super cheap.... $4.00 to be exact. I fell in love with there cuteness.

This year more than ever I have tried to focus on being kind and happy. I feel like we should try our best to do this. God calls us to it. Not in a ridiculous superficial sense, but in a genuine way. I have found the more that I count my blessings the easier this is. I know that every day can not be perfect and that we are human with various feelings. Sometimes you can’t help but feel down. But God tells us to count it all joy. James 1:2.

Do you find it easy to be joyful? Or is it a struggle? Share your thoughts on this with me! Try to keep on the sunny side.

A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others.

Gee Ain’t It Funny How Time Slips Away

Why do we let time slip by when it’s so very precious?  I’m often reminded of this truth as I meander through this life. Every time a loved one slips into eternity it’s as if the clocks ticking gets a little louder and time seems more precious .....and yet so does death.

Soon we all slip into the sweet bye and bye.... and we meet on that beautiful shore. I lost my favorite Uncle recently and I have pondered a few of these things. I am so grateful that he was a Christian and I have absolutely no doubt where he is. But life is a little more lonely without him here. Each person adds an element to your life. Each time a loved one leaves, a bit of sparkle leaves with them. And with each farewell, death seems a little less scary. I’m not trying to be morbid. These are thoughts that were on my heart today.

So onto brighter topics.... This is the mini makeover that my daughter and I did on our living room. It has already changed since this picture was taken. We decided to buy new furniture. But I wanted to show this to you first.

Feminine details.... and I think it looks beautiful but... this slipcover was a nightmare. Always slipping and sliding every which way. So it was just time for new furniture.

Since my last post Winter  became Spring and now we are into full blown Summer heat. We have had a lot of rain!

This was my driveway after 25 straight days of rain. It’s finally drying out. I’m so thankful for that. Although we have had a huge amount of humidity.

Mornings are my absolute favorite time of day. The possibilities are endlessly ahead of me and I feel so invigorated. This was a particularly pretty morning.

And another that was so pretty.... before the heat set in and everything seemed to wilt and all you want to do is hide in the air conditioning.

What is your favorite time of day? Leave me a comment! I would love to hear from you! Happy June my friends!💕

XOXO,
Amy Jo
