Happy July

Happy July! Another month has come and gone.

We are still getting daily rain. It looks like a hurricane hit through here. Hopefully we don’t actually get a hurricane this year. I’m not sure what will happen. Probably the worst flooding this area would have seen.

During the month of June we went to visit my father in law. We hadn’t seen him in over 5 years. This is my brother in law (left to right) father in law, husband, and son. It was good to check on him and see how things are doing for him.

We went and saw the Incredibles.

We went to the beach...

And scalloping...

We have to take two boats since the family has grown so much.

As you can see they were successful...

I stayed back and got to play with Carson, my great nephew. He’s the little star of the show. My daughter and son in law have yet to have children.... they brought his eight year old nephew.

They are not used to parenting!๐Ÿ˜‚

While they were out cold, Mason was still going! They  thought an eight year old took energy... I cannot wait to see how a baby goes. Hee hee

Happy Summer!

Hello Dolly! It’s the first day of summer! Can you believe it? Doesn’t it seem that it was just New Years the other day?

With summer comes a lot of rain and a lot of heat. I’m so thankful for air conditioning. And ice cream ๐Ÿฆ

Everything is green and beautiful. And the bugs are in full supply. But each season is so wonderful. And each has its special joys. I hope you have a wonderful summer! And that it doesn’t fly by to fast.

XOXO

Christmas

Christmas came and went so quickly.

It was a very quiet Christmas this year... we didn't host our annual Christmas party.

We may do it next year...

But we will wait and see...

I still did a few decorations and two small trees.

Now it's time to pack it all away until next time.

My favorite tree

My husband got me a Jeep for Christmas! It will be perfect for the dirt roads.

Levi got a shotgun for Christmas and he got his

drivers license . Let's just say I'm on pins and needles.

Now it's time to get busy and put everything away.

My Birthday

My birthday was filled with so much love and good times. On Friday my husband had this beautiful bouquet delivered to the office๐Ÿ˜.

And when I got home I had this beautiful pen and card from my Aunt in the mailbox! It was so sweet.

On Saturday I went shopping with Amber (my sister) and I found these beautiful books,

I love the sweet simplicity of the old illustrations.

I found this cute butter knife and

These pillows . They freshen up my tired old chair. We then had a wonderful lunch. I went home for a few hours and cleaned while hubby mowed. After that it was to dinner with my In laws.

My mother in law bought me this!!! A blower! I never would have thought of it, but I absolutely love it! I was able to get my porch clean in a fraction of the time.

So a beautiful birthday it was! The only thing missing was my daughter who is still far away in New York. She normally spends the day with me and this was the first time in her 24 years that we weren't together for one of our birthdays.  But I'm hoping to see her soon.

Beautiful Things All Around Us

Good morning! It's positively beautiful in Florida right now... We have been having the best weather and it's wonderful! I'm so grateful for every day.

I changed out the aprons....

I haven't grown tired of any of my pink appliances or pink decor..... when you love something you can always make it work.

And it seems everything you pick up just goes....because it's what you love. This little bear is so cute. So she was added to the vignette.

I named her cupcake... I hope your having a lovely week....

Cottage Happenings

Life is going by so swiftly... every day is such a blessing and a gift. I'm back with a little update on the happenings in Winona Cottage. I got to meet Christie Jones Ray about a month ago and I now have a cute little Eliza mouse along with one of her books. I've been following her blog and Instagram account for years so it was so neat to meet her.

My daughter came for a visit during spring break and oh did we paint the town! We went shopping and to the beach and out for lunches and dinners. It was fabulous!
But of course all good things must come to an end. So she flew home. But will be returning next week for the birth of my nephews son.

Spring has been unusually cool here in Florida... that was until yesterday when it hit the 90s.

I finally completed this little collection. I found the refrigerator and it was the final piece that I needed. I love this little set. It's from the 1950's. It came in pink and white. Of course I wanted the pink version.

I did some tweaking in the entry way. And I love how it turned out. I have never loved the way it was before but I'm thrilled with it now.

Some of my favorite dishes got to come out again.

My baby dresses are back in the limelight.

And some of my toleware found a home again.

Happiness all around.
Most recently I found this sweet little pink hanger at Michaels for half price. It's perfect for some of my aprons. I will show a shot of the whole room next  time. Well I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful spring! And I'll be back soon! Hugs to you all!
