Spring Update Quarantine Edition

Good Morning Friends!  I have been trying to incorporate more green drinks into our lives here at the cottage. Everyone gladly drinks them for their health. Celery juice is a hard drink to drink at first,  but with time you almost crave it. (Almost)

I have been trying to  work on my health. So there isn’t  to many blueberry muffins that are getting eaten by me. I still make Frank and Levi all of their favorites. I’m finding as I get older it’s harder and harder to maintain a decent weight. Do any of you find that as well?

So I go along trying one thing and another. I’ve came to the conclusion that I must stick to something for 6 weeks to see if it’s working for me. I will let you know if what I’ve just started works for me. Until then I won’t share the details.

The weather has been the prettiest I’ve seen in a long time. Temperatures are lower than normal. And it’s been breezy. We are enjoying it so much!

We sit out on the porch most evenings. We’ve been listening to the Unashamed Podcast by Phil and Al Robertson. It’s really good. They talk about the Bible and what’s going on in the world. We have found it interesting.

With quarantine Easter was just another day. No family celebration, no church service..,, I hope it’s the only Easter I ever have like that.

Savanah still got dressed up.

I wore a pretty blouse but not to dressed up.

Until next time,

I hope you are enjoying the fabulous spring weather.

XOXO

Happy February

Has it truly been almost a year since I visited this tiny blog? Last February I was talking about tricking my bike and my husband surprised me with this beautiful bike. Last summer turned out to be so hot that we only road occasionally. It was 100+ degrees almost every day. No Thank You!

My son... I feel like Pee Wee Herman when I ride my bike.😂

2019 was a very busy year for us. It seemed as if every day was filled with something to do. And truthfully nothing has really changed that,  except I’m trying to be way more conscious of my time.

Time is something we can’t capture and we can’t get more of... as I’ve gotten more seasons under my belt I realize just how precious it is.

I’ve tried to spend more time just being. I’m trying to block out the world as much as possible. Be in the world and not of the world. I can tell you it has made a huge difference in my stress levels.

I signed up for audible and I’m loving being able to listen to books while doing my daily work. It makes such a difference in how productive I can be. To keep learning is a very high priority for me. I want to always be learning and not sitting stagnant. If you don’t like to read or you are in a season where it’s hard to get the time to read, you might want to subscribe to Audible from Amazon.

My homemaker life suffered in 2019 but I have made quite the effort to take it back in 2020 and I am loving being back in that element.

Home is where my heart is....

I’m looking forward to having an organized home with a lot less clutter... it’s a serious work in progress.

I will try to get this little neglected blog up to date and start sharing more. God has been so good to our little family throughout 2019 and all the years before. I’m so thankful and I’m praying that we all have a blessed and wonderful 2020.

Randomness...

Happy President's Day!  I have a some very random things to share with you... First is our doorbell button gave up the ghost and we replaced it with a shiny new one... It makes me happy. I know it's the little things.

This is my Valentine Door Wreath. My neighbor made it for me and I added the heart for Valentines.

Levi growing so big.... He's on a skateboard here. But he is right around my height now. So soon he will be taller than me. tear, tear.

The Azalea's are blooming and I just love how pretty they are.

By the road...

Frank got us a new mailbox since someone bent ours. A common problem in the back roads...

My hubby had these delivered to the door Friday. So pretty. And so sweet. He is a very sweet man. We spent Valentines together. We went shopping and to Longhorn for Lunch. And we may have stopped at Sweet Frogs for dessert... but don't tell the kids...

On Saturday I found this at an antique mall for $10.00. I have been wanting a pink cow creamer for a while... so now I can mark that off of my ever changing must have collection list. LOL

A view of the dining room.... the big bouquet was for Savanah from her husband... a special delivery. Their one year anniversary was yesterday. Time is just going. We have to remember to see the beauty in the small every day things as this is what life is made of.
Blessing and Love to you dear readers.....

Pin Money Banks

Can you believe Thanksgiving will be here in three days? I can't. Not only will it be Thanksgiving but it will be Levi's 12th birthday. Time is flying. I wanted to share a couple of vintage banks I have gotten over the last couple of months. I collect these little banks and I only had a couple. But I picked up two more. This is the first one.

And this is the second one. My picture blurred a little. They are just so pretty. I love them.

Here they are on my bookshelf in the dining room. I have a beautiful little hutch to work on and paint. I am hoping to get that done soon. Then all of this will be changed up. I will keep you updated.

Blessings,
Amy Jo

A Sweet Cherry Apron

Look what I received in the mail yesterday, the cutest package!

I ordered an apron from Vintage Grey.... The wrapping was so cute I had to take pictures to show you.

Such a clever tag.

With a typed message on a doily...

And then the apron.... Isn't it so sweet? I don't think you can tell in the picture but this is a pale pink fabric. I love the contrast with the red.

And the cherries... I just love everything about them! If you haven't looked at her blog you should she has the most adorable handmade things.

I was out of town again for the last five days and now I am home...but only for two days and then I am gone again for a few days. This summer has been go go go....  I have accomplished a lot but I haven't really got to do the things I had planned with Levi. This weekend is scalloping. I know he will love that. He always does. Time is flying by.... The days seem so fleeting. I am now on Instagram amyjoleen76, if you would like to find me and follow me you can see what I am up to. Until the next time....

Small Changes and a Sign

I have had these little pot holders for a long time. They have been stuffed in a drawer.... I also had this key holder hanging with no keys hanging on it....so I got the brilliant idea to hang the pot holders on the key holder
. I think they look darling.

This is a side table in the living room... I changed it up a bit...

I just love this lovely lady...

And this adorable vintage rooster.

My mom made this sign for the wedding...you thought it was a sign of things to come didn't you? based on my title. No it is an actual sign. LOL  Didn't she do a fantastic job?

I hope you are all having a blessed week...as you can see nothing major is happening around the home front.  I just thought I would share my day.

Vintage Suit Cases

Remember these suit cases I got from my friend Heather? Well, we decided they needed a paint job.

We are going to use them at Savanah's wedding. We will open the top suit case for cards. And the great thing is they will blend right in with all of my décor! Yay Me!

Mr. Bubble Bath

Since having my new tub I have tried several bubble bath products. But I don't like any of them as much as Mr. Bubble! I love Mr. Bubble. I thought y'all might enjoy this vintage commercial.

Time For Creativity

We have begun a new year!! I am hoping to make the most of this year... One of my goals is to be more creative. I have been wanting to make something for a while but it seems I never have the time. But no more excuses I am going to start.

I went to Jo Anne Fabrics and picked up a few items that I needed.....Can you guess what I'm making? I am not going to tell...I will show you when I am all done.

The Best of Bliss is out on the shelf and it is a lovely issue....you might want to pick up a copy.

They also have all of their ornaments 70% off. There wasn't much left but I picked this little angel up. I am going to repaint it in softer colors.( I already started when I remembered to take a pic)  I thought she was cute.

I also forgot to show you a couple of ornaments I got on eBay...

They are all packed up until next year...I just love them though. I thought you might like them too.... Now it is on to other holidays...and I am looking forward to Valentines Day...I picked up a wreath a while back at Goodwill, it needs tweaking and then I will show it to you.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

XOXO,
AMY JO
