Spring is Coming

Good Morning! Can you believe the last day of February is here? Living in Florida, most of winter isn’t to bad. It’s actually a wonderful time of year. We have been in the low 80’s for weeks now.

It has been perfect for outdoor things like fishing . My sons favorite pastime.

Everything is beginning to flower. It is a beautiful time of year.

I guess I should think about spring cleaning....

I’ve thought about it..... and it doesn’t sound fun. Lol In all seriousness it is something that needs to be done. I’ve been watching the Marie Kondo series on Netflix and she has inspired me in some areas. But if you love vintage and you love to collect you may never be just like Marie.  I will always keep the things that spark joy. I have a whole house of sparked joy. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Recently I went to the consignment shop and found these lovelies! Lily Pulitzer shoes that have never been worn and the most adorable spring bags.

For Valentines Hubby bought me this cute pink timer. It didn’t work so we must send it back . But it was so cute.

I got my old bike out and washed it and got it ready for spring. Then my husband decided he wanted a new bike to match mine. His was to hard on his back. So he bought a dark blue Townie.  He also put mine in the shop to be serviced. And I’m getting a new seat. Mine was tearing. I’ve had my Townie Electra for 15 years and it is still the best bike I’ve ever ridden.

This is another bike I found on Pinterest. I have been looking for ways to trick my bike! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I got a new basket like this one, they are putting it on while it’s in the shop. I also got a new bell. Look out! I think I’m going to sew ๐Ÿงต a basket liner. And maybe add steamers. I will feel like I’m ten years old again. I could hardly sleep thinking of all the fun we are going to have.๐Ÿ˜‚

Here’s to March and a new month filled with happiness and lots of fun.  Hopefully we will all have good weather and happy spirits. Until next time.

Our School Did What???

The year started off so wonderful Levi got his drivers license and this was the beginning of me not having to drive him. Of course it was a little frightening at first. But he has been doing so well! I’m very proud of him.

Then it was report card time..... He got all A’s, B’s a C and a D. We knew he was struggling in the algebra 2 honors and we also know he has been giving his best efforts. So we weren’t mad at all. But attached to his report card was a contract from his school saying that we must sign it and if he doesn’t get the D up he would be asked to leave the school. Say what????? So they give 60 days to pull the grade up or you leave! ....To say I was unhappy was an understatement.

This is a Christian School that he has been at since elementary. I guess the only thing they worry about is numbers. Not the student and their struggles. The tutor said this is probably how they keep the numbers up for the right to say all of their students make high grades. This is my first time dealing with anything like this.

I am mad! I don’t like bullying, especially when it comes to a young person. Also we have had emails talking about it and now they want a discussion with his math teacher, guidance councilor, principal and owner of the school. So that he can understand the “brevity” of the situation. All this the minute the report card came out. Not a peep from them prior. I am feeling like these shoes are made for walking and that’s what they’re going to do..... what would you do?

Happy New Year!!!!

And just like that it’s a new year! Where did the time go?

I didn’t reach a lot of the goals I wanted to reach this year but overall it was still a pretty good year.

How about you? Do you set goals? Or do you just wing it? I’m a healthy mix of the two. But mostly I wing it.

This was my top nine pictures on Instagram last year. I had a lot of fun sharing bits of my life there. That is where you will mostly find me. I don’t have Facebook.

I did set some goals for myself this year. I decided I won’t try any crazy diet goals but, I do plan on doing some form of exercise every single day.

And I plan on reading my yearly Bible everyday.

And I would like to get back to creative endeavors... such as crafting or sewing. Painting furniture or maybe more decorating. I believe we are designed to be creative and it really is so fulfilling.

The sunrise was glowing pink right over Winona Cottage this morning. A little love note from God.
Happy New Year and Many Blessings to each one of you in 2019.
