What I Wore 2019 Part 2

Happy Monday!! I decided to get back to updating the tiny neglected blog. So I’ll get to it. This was a dress I got from Stitch Fix and paired with a Loft sweater. I wore this for my birthday dinner. My 29th Birthday dinner. What you don’t believe me?

I told you!! The waiter obviously thought this was funny. I told him he was my favorite waiter of all time.

This beautiful blazer I got at an antique mall. It’s vintage and I really love it! I wore it to church.

This over sweater is from ModCloth. I got it on clearance and I will definitely wear it again this spring.

A friend from Instagram sent me these lovely earrings as a gift. They are handmade.

Another Lularoe dress. I’m telling you they are the best!

This dress is from Amazon. They are really inexpensive and comfortable. I think they are around $25 The kimono is from?? You guessed it. Lularoe 💕

A bright spring dress from ModCloth. Another clearance sell.

Another Lularoe... I guess I’m obsessed.

The Cuff is from Mothercuffer. I wear a lot of cuffs. I love words and I think they are pretty special since they are handmade.

This is a Lily Pulitzer skirt and Chico’s chambray top.

And believe it or not that was all of the outfit pictures I took for 2019. I wore a lot more pants this year and I have realized that mostly they are very uninspiring to me. I love dresses and skirts, but mostly skirts. And truly maxi skirts. My legs are not fabulous and I really don’t like showing them off.  I will continue tweaking what I love this year and finding what I feel is best for me as I continue on. I’ll keep you all updated on my not so mainstream clothing journey. If I don’t like it after I wear it, I give it away or sell it to the consignment shop. So some things you have seen may already be history. Others I’ll try to rewear and find ways to use them that make me happy. If they don’t work out it’s no love loss for me I try to get the item to someone who will love it.

Happy July

Happy July! Another month has come and gone.

We are still getting daily rain. It looks like a hurricane hit through here. Hopefully we don’t actually get a hurricane this year. I’m not sure what will happen. Probably the worst flooding this area would have seen.

During the month of June we went to visit my father in law. We hadn’t seen him in over 5 years. This is my brother in law (left to right) father in law, husband, and son. It was good to check on him and see how things are doing for him.

We went and saw the Incredibles.

We went to the beach...

And scalloping...

We have to take two boats since the family has grown so much.

As you can see they were successful...

I stayed back and got to play with Carson, my great nephew. He’s the little star of the show. My daughter and son in law have yet to have children.... they brought his eight year old nephew.

They are not used to parenting!😂

While they were out cold, Mason was still going! They  thought an eight year old took energy... I cannot wait to see how a baby goes. Hee hee

Tammy Doll

Hello There! It has been a long while! 6 Months actually! I have been active over on instagram. I love it and it is so easy to do. But sometimes I miss my little piece of blog world. I still read most everyone's post I just can't comment from my phone. But I'm here.

I don't know how many of you know Tammy. But she is the sweetest thing. LOL. I have 2 Tammy dolls and they are a cute collectible. You know how I love vintage things.

Levi is now in the 7th grade and doing quite well. School time always means a lot of running for me. I'm on the road 3 hours a day driving back and forth to school.

And can you believe it is Fall Y'all? Me neither, summer was a blur of mostly rain every day down here in Florida.

Our septic business has been extremely busy so even though we are tired of rain, it truly has been a blessing!

I'm looking forward to all of the Holidays and times with family and friends. We have a wedding coming up for my nephew! That is going to be so fun! Also Thanksgiving and Christmas. oh it is going to be great! It is good to be back here. I hope some of you are still here! Happy October Friends!

Blessings,
Amy Jo

A Handmade doll

I thought I would share the little handmade doll I got from a lady who lives in Chez Republic. She is so adorable and even though I got her months ago, I forgot to share her with my blog friends. I found her on instagram and instantly wanted her. She took over a month to get to me. Now she sits in the entry way.  I hope all are having a wonderful beginning of the week.

Blessings,

Last Day of School Teacher Gift

Today was the last day of school....this year has flown so fast. I am happy to have summer stretching before us... There is so much we want to do.  We are going to North Carolina for 10 days to spend with Savanah.  We are setting up our little fishing place so that we will have it to spend summers. If the Lord is willing we definitely have much we want to do...

I found this idea on pinterest and decided it would be the sweetest gift for Levi's teacher. I am so grateful to her for her hard work and dedication to these children.

It is a little picket fence basket filled with all things strawberry. Candles, lotion, soap, strawberry gummies and more...

She loved it! So it was a complete success.... So what are you planning for summer?

Bountiful Blessings

I feel very blessed!  I have received so many wonderful gifts lately.... I won a give away over at Junk Chic Cottage. She was having her second blog anniversary. This is my 1st time ever winning a blog give away...So I was super excited. This is what I got. Note cards, pen, and the cutest air freshener. Thank you Kris!

Also back in December Kim over at Imagery by Kimberly gave away, to anyone who wanted one, a beautiful matted print of one of her swan photographs... I got one. Her photography is beautiful and peaceful. If you haven't been to her blog you should check it out.  Thank you Kim!

I have been picking up vintage sheets for years and I love to make sets out of mis matches. This is a yellow set I have put together...

I love yellow it is such a bright and happy color. And you know I love roses :)

Lastly I wanted to share these beautiful old Ball jars that are so popular right now.... My dear friend (more like family) Judy, gave these to me. They are old...and I really love them. Thank you Judy! I plan on putting sand in one and old photographs of beach goers. I saw the idea in an antique store. It was darling.

I love that on the top it says.... Jam 8/5/58....So it was definitely used for someone's  fresh canned jam.  Oooh vintage goodness.

Sweet Trinkets

It has been raining and tornado warnings have been issued today...So it is just a day to hang out inside. I found this Josef Original named Nannette at an Antique store last weekend. I have never seen one like it...I thought she was so pretty.

I told my Mom that I liked these salt and pepper shakers and she gave them to me. They are so cute aren't they?

They look so cute on our mantle. Thanks Mom!  I have had  some beautiful things given to  me and I am going to share those with you soon. I hope you are having a good weekend....Until next time...

Color Has Arrived

My colors arrived in the mail yesterday...and they are dark. You know I LOVE spring colors. But I also know that these are the colors that look best on me. I thought this was going to be traumatizing but actually when I started going through my closet most of my colors were in these shades. So I guess it is an instinct for us. Although I have a lot of cream and that is a hard one for me to let go of. Hopefully I will find someone who can use the clothes that I am getting rid of. Only if it is their colors...lol.

I am going to keep this little packet with me so when I am tempted to buy something I can whip out these little color cards and see if it is a waste of money.... Since I do so much consignment and thrift shopping this is really going to come in handy when going through bunched up clothing. I will just take out the card in the corresponding color and I won't even pull it off the rack to look at it unless it is in the perfect shade. This will be a great time saver as well. With the cards came a description of each and it even says what color jewelry will look best with what shade of color you are wearing. I am so happy I did this. Some of you may notice that there is winter and fall color in my chart. That is because she takes the Color Me Beautiful chart a step further. As you know you are normally a combination of two. She has them on the charts...Easy. Love that.

I hope you have a blessed weekend.

Getting Ready for Spring and Some Finds

It is almost spring! I have been getting things ready around our home. Mr. Bunny has been put in place.

I found these adorable little bunnies at Joanne's...

They are put in little places around our cottagey home...

I found this picture when Mom and I were at the Wildwood Antique Mall.... I thought it was so pretty! I have realized I have a  Romantic Grandma style and I am good with that.

But as you know I had to paint the frame... Now it matches the rest of my home.

I added a few more of these flowers and they look so pretty in the bathroom.

I found this lovely plate too. It was only $10.00.

Spring Centerpiece, I had these since Levi was a Baby and I thought they were perfect for Spring. My friend Heather gave me the glass/plate tray.

This is the left overs from the Candy Bar at the wedding... It looks pretty in the kitchen.

These M&M's were at the wedding as well they say said Kevin and Savanah February 15.. They are all gone now... I am not sure how they disappeared so fast.  It has been beautiful here with lots of breezy weather.... Today is rain but it is supposed to clear out and be cool and beautiful....And that is my little update on the happenings here at Cedar Side Cottage. (That is my new name for our home)  I am in LOVE  with the beginning of Spring!  How are things in your neck of the woods? Are you ready for Spring?
