Fancy Flea, Not a Complete Fail

Bright and early yesterday morning I woke up and got ready for the Fancy Flea. As we arrived at my sister's I could feel the humidity in the air, but we were still optimistic and ready to go.

As we were driving down I-4 we could see the clouds rolling in....and it looked like rain ahead. But onward we rolled.

When we arrived in Plant City it was pouring! We stopped at McDonald's and tried to kill some time and to see if it would pass. But.....it didn't. So we went on over to the Strawberry Festival grounds. It was a mud hole... In places it looked like hogs had been rooting all night. People were muddy and even the police were stuck in the mud.

We went to a few booths that were open and bought a few things. I got my bag from Carol at the Polka Dot Closet.... A beautiful shrug from Paris Rags and the find of the day was a huge crocheted tablecloth for $10.00. All of it was soaked. It all had to be dried out.

Lastly was this beautiful head vase....I sunk in mud up to my ankles to get this. My dress was mud spattered and my shoes were completely black with mud.... But I did get a few treasures. As far as a give away I will be working on finding some goodies soon.... some that won't be mud spattered.

xoxo,
Amy Jo

  3. Oh Amy It was so great to see you, you're sooo cute!! Oh goodness, it was worse for the shoppers than the vendors!! You did get some great things! That shrug is adorable and the poinsettia tote...What can I say lol! I don't see your email here, but I could not remember, was it you who asked about the bouquets? They did not sell so I have 3 of them. Here is the link to them in my store for your daughter to take a look at http://www.thepolkadotcloset.com/category_63/-Fabric-Flower-Bouquets-.htm Of course you know that is not your price!

  5. Hi Amy Jo,
Oh I hear that Fancy Flea is such a great market so sorry it was miserable with the rain. My mom lives in Florida and is always bugging me to come down for this market. Looks like you made the best of it.
