Fab Finds (cheap) and The Beginning of the Remodel

Happy Friday!! I found these beautiful plates yesterday for $5.00 each! I am going to hang them in the kitchen.

I also found 10 yards of cotton lace trim for $6.00. We were at the antique mall and I couldn't believe how low the prices were. It actually worried me a bit since I am in the process of setting up my booth.

And let the fun begin!! The first day, Wednesday, Everything was tore out.

Then we brought back in the tub to play around with. We wanted to see where we would put everything.  Day one down...

The second day Dad came back and they started the removal of the floor.

I could not believe the dust that went everywhere!  We are not even sleeping in our room because it smells of dust and dirt.

Once day two was complete this is what it looks like. Now we have to wait for the plumber to come Monday and run all the new plumbing lines. Then they will pour the concrete back in. (Thank the good Lord my Dad has done concrete for over 40 years) So this is no problem for him. I was hoping for a two week project...(I know laughable, Right?) Dad said it will be a lot longer than that :(. I am using this as a little journal of the project. I know it may bore some of you. But I want to be able to look back and see just how it went.

I hope you all have a blessed weekend!

  1. I am a new reader to your blog and absolutely LOVE it!!! My family and I will be traveling to Orlando and Vero Beach in April (Disney) and I was wondering if you can recommend any good flea markets and antique shops in the area. I am very familiar with the area! Any recommendations would be appreciated!

  2. Oh My Amy Jo,

Now I know we are to be thankful for what we have ..I can't agree with you more and I know if your MB was mine I would be thankful for it to ..but dear of dear ..Let us Pray Thank You Lord the hot tub in the MB is going away ..LOL ! You know sometimes you just wonder what the previous owners were thinking now don't you ..??? Although they probably thought it was the coolest thing and so luxurious ..LOL !!! So glad you are getting a MB makeover and can't wait to see the new improved MB when its complete. And congrats on your new space ..I remember when I started I had so much fun .. still do.
