Antique Day Finds

So over the weekend we had our girl (and Levi) day. He regrettably had to come, not my regrets but his. Antiquing is not his favorite thing to do. But at last his dad was in classes that day.  But he got out early and picked him up midday, talk about a happy child. LOL I thought I would show you the super cute stuff I found that day.

I found these cute vintage Florida pillows for 6.00 and I thought they would be really cute in our camper.

My mom bought me the magazine, because she wants us to do a tea.... so after Easter I am going to work on that. The plate I just love and it will be hung in my kitchen.

His and Hers pillowcases. These will also be in the camper.

I love quotes and this was no exception. So it is added to the living room.

Lastly I got a vintage cobblers apron and two old melamine bowls....in pink... can it get any better than that? Fuel for my dish obsession.... I will not be doing any more shopping until the end of April. I am saving all my money for the Fancy Flea in Lakeland, Florida...... I can not wait! I hope you have a blessed evening.

Granny and Grandpa's Cottage

This was my Granny and Grandpa's cottage.... Isn't it so cute? They have both passed on and now this belongs to my parents. They have decided to sell the little cottage.

I have a slight addiction to houses... I would love, love, love to be a real estate agent. The only problem is I would always want to buy and never want to sell. LOL That goes for granny's cottage as well. I have tried to convince everyone in the family how wonderful there life would be if only they would buy the little cottage. :) I would love for it to stay in the family. This is what you see as you pull up to the cottage.

Darling little thing! Couldn't you just see an arbor covered in flowers and the perfect little cottage garden surrounding this?
The property is really pretty.
It backs up to acres and acres of woods....
Side view.
Little wildflowers blowing in the breeze.
The bedrooms are smaller, after all it is a storybook cottage...
This was Granny's bedroom.
The bathroom.
Eat in Kitchen. I would paint the cabinets white and the walls yellow. I would have to do a toss up between pink or red for the accents. (pink would probably win hehe)
The living room is really large for the square footage of this home... It would be perfect for a couple....Simple and sweet.
The other half of the living room. My grandparents had this table in here. They would always sit at the table, watch tv and drink coffee. So many memories... years have passed and all that is left is the echo in our hearts.... and a little cottage on the edge of the woods.

Sweet Babies

This is a Florida Sand hill Crane.  And it's baby. If you look closely you can see the little one.

They are so precious... I could not get close enough to get good pictures.

This is the best shot... they were walking away from me the whole time... but I still thought some of you might like to see these beautiful birds and there babies.

Mommy and Daddy and two little ones.

Spring time and babies..... Life is good.
I hope all of you have a great weekend! I will be spending time with my Mom, sister, and daughter.... We don't do that often enough these days. See you soon :)

Come On In For A Visit!

Hello there! I am so glad you stopped by for a visit.... I hope you don't mind but I have to put on my apron and do a few chores while we visit.
I'll make you a glass of sweet tea.  You can talk and I will listen, while I clean up around here.
I just have few a dishes to wash...
Then I will dry them and put them away....
Would you like to stay for  lunch? It's nothing fancy, "Oh" I am out of bread. I hope you don't mind the end pieces. Do you like egg salad?
It has been so nice visiting with you. Would you like to sit in my favorite spot?
In my cozy chair...
I'll get you a book... You just relax. Home is such a nice place to be....

Happy Homemaking today,
Amy Jo

Levi's New Bed

This is Levi's New Bed. I have been working away on his bedroom all weekend. I just realized I didn't get a picture of the whole bed. This is a Captains bed with storage underneath for all of his clothes and a bookshelf for a foot board. It has made a world of difference in his room. Yes those are guns in his room. They are all unloaded and he can not get any of the ammo without his dad. They are mostly BB, and Pellet guns.
He had a queen bed before, so you can imagine how much space a twin created.
The happy boy.
And now for some sad news about bunny..... I decided to let him sit on the porch in my child's rocker..... Well maybe bunny wasn't ready to be outside... He seemed like he would be o.k. but he must have seen the neighbors bull dog coming over. And he must of seen him grab Levi's ball and pop it...... I think he tried to save it. The old boy tried.....
But at last he didn't win.....

The ball still got popped and poor, poor bunny, he was reduced to shreds. He made a valiant effort, though. And he will always be remembered....

Playing House

Do you remember playing house? When I was little I use to love playing house. Sometimes I would convince my brother to play as well. Of course he was the dad and he would be working or hunting. :) I remember setting up a little spot in the front yard under the cedar trees. I would make my dolls a bed and try to get the kitchen all set up. I remember how I would dream of my someday life when I would be married and have a real house of my very own..... I got a winnie-the-pooh book for my 5th birthday and I remember studying the pictures and thinking how I wanted a chair and a rug just like the one in poohs house. I was thinking the other day about those times and realized I have all I ever dreamed of. Isn't that amazing?! No I don't live in a mansion and I am not rich, (that wasn't really my dream) but I have a husband who lets me stay home. And, I have a house that I can do anything I want to with. Talk about blessed!
So with these new found thoughts on my life, I have been changing things around and doing everything I want to do in this house. Adding something here and moving something there. It makes life so much more interesting. You know playing house....
I have really been busy in Levi's room. I got him a bed at an estate sale.... So all weekend I have been working in his room. It has been so fun. I will show pictures after I get his mattress. It will be here Tuesday. Until then I will just be playing house.

Treasures From a Friend

Today is so beautiful! The breeze is blowing and the birds are singing. I can here my wind chimes tinkling... I love spring. I am sitting at the dining room table looking out. This is the view.

My friend Julie, got me this little bunny at an estate sale... Isn't he cute? She also gave me one of her bars of homemade soap. Lavender and vanilla... it smells heavenly. I put the bar of soap in the guest bath.
As far as bunny boy.... he is roaming around a bit.
For now he is enjoying visiting us in the living room. But who knows he may decide to sit somewhere else.
I painted the little set I got the other day... so I have made some progress around the home front. I hope you are enjoying your Saturday.

Blessings,
Amy Jo
